How the ActiveCampaign integration works

Delighted's ActiveCampaign integration triggers your project's surveys based on various events:

  • After a Contact is created
  • After a Contact is added to an Account
  • After a Deal is created
  • After a Contact is tagged
  • After a Deal stage is updated

The last two events (Contact Tagged and Deal Stage Updated) allow you to pick from a drop-down list of options:

You can also include a delay for your trigger, including:

  • Instantly
  • 1 day
  • 1 week
  • 2 weeks
  • 1 month

Setting up the ActiveCampaign integration

Go to ActiveCampaign and log into your account

Click the "Settings" option located in the lift side navigation menu

The "Settings" menu will appear. Click the "Developer" option

The "Developer" page will display your ActiveCampaign API access "URL" and "Key" → (copy both over to Delighted as explained next)

Head to the "Integration" tab in Delighted → and click the ActiveCampaign tile

Input the API Access "URL" and "Key" into the requested fields

Select "Connect to ActiveCampaign"

Once the page is refreshed, you can configure your settings as needed

Why am I getting an error message when I attempt to connect to ActiveCampaign?

If the ActiveCampaign API URL and Key, which are input to the ActiveCampaign integration page, are not valid, we'll return an error similar to below:

To correct this error, revisit your ActiveCampaign "Developer" Settings page and copy both the API URL and Key once more. Often, these keys/URLs are just missing a few characters and/or have been recently rotated, which leads to the above error.

What happens if I need to rotate my keys in ActiveCampaign?

If you rotate your keys in ActiveCampaign:

Log into ActiveCampaign → and click "Settings" → followed by "Developer"

Copy your most recent API Access URL and Key. Notice that you can select "Reset API Key"

Return to Delighted's ActiveCampaign integration

Turn off and remove your integration

Set up the ActiveCampaign integration again using the instructions above → (in the section "Setting up the ActiveCampaign integration")

Your integration should now be up-and-running!

What property details are pulled in with each survey request?

The properties that are pulled in with each survey request will vary based on the trigger you select. Note: Some properties may not appear if not included with the Contact record (ex. Organization Name is optional for Contacts):
