Filtering with properties on your dashboard

Filters are shown on the left-hand side of your dashboard. The filters will show the property name as well as each value included in the import.

Adding filters

Once you’ve imported a list of people for the first time, any imported properties will be immediately available on your dashboard as filters. We’ll select a handful of filters to show initially, but you can add or remove as many as you’d like.

If you ever need to add a new property, simply include it wherever you’re adding people to survey (Web, API, or CSV/Excel). Filters for new properties will not be automatically added to your dashboard, but it is easy to do so.

On the left-hand side of the page, you’ll see a link for “Add a new filter”. If you’ve just imported new properties, a purple badge will appear indicating the number of new filters available.

To add a filter, simply click the link and select the desired filter from the drop-down menu.

Segmenting responses with filters

Filtering responses based on properties is easy! Under any filter, select the value by which you’d like to filter responses. The dashboard will automatically update – segmenting responses and updating the score calculation.

Combining filters

Combining filters lets you uncover powerful insights that you wouldn’t have otherwise observed. You can pin any filters you’d like to combine with others (the pin icon is visible after clicking a specific filter). Once you’ve pinned a filter, you can click another filter without clearing the previous one. You can unpin a filter simply by clicking the pin icon again. If you’d like to save a configuration of pinned filters, you can create a Trend.

Removing filters

If you need to remove any filters from your dashboard, hover your cursor over the filter name. Click on the “X” in the upper right-hand corner of the filter box, or drag the filter off of the sidebar, and the filter will be removed. This doesn’t remove the property – only the filter. You can always add it back later.
